JUNIORS COMPLETE HALF-WAY MARK OF 2006 THE SEASON (SUNDAY 18 JUNE)
The U11 Joeys have completed the first half of the season with 100% win record and now top their Division with a comfortable 6 point lead after disposing Boroondara Lions 5 - 1. This has capped a string of terrific performances which has seen the team only concede 2 goals so far this season.
The U11 Kangaroos are also pushing for top of the table title honours and sent another statement of their intent with a 9 - 0 thrashing of Richmond. The Kangaroos are only 2 points off top spot and potential wins against its two main rivals will likely land them the championship at the completion of the seaon.
The U12A squad was unfortunate to go down 1 - 0 to fellow title challengers Bulleen. The U12s stay in third place in a tough Division and look forward to an exciting second half of the season. A string of similar good performances in the second phase will see them finish well within the U13 Super League qualification positions for 2007.
The U13B squad got back to wining ways by defeating Sherbrook Rangers 6 - 0. The team moves back into third position but will have some work to do to catch the top two sides. The return games against Boronia and Kingston will be critical for title ambitions at the end of the season.
The U13 Super League squad held off an improved Mornington side to record a vital 2 - 1 away win. The result was the team's sixth consecutive win of the campaign and shoots them into first position by one point over Box Hill who defeated last week's leaders Bulleen by an identical 2 - 1 score-line. The team now has three weeks break from the competition to prepare for the second phase and will play a friendly game against Fawkner on June 30 to maintain match sharpness.
