MONASH COACH TO ASSIST U15 GIRLS STATE TEAM AT QUANTAS NATIONAL YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS
Coaching Director and U13 Super League Coach, Laurie Ferns, has accepted the role as Assistant Coach for Victoria's U15 Girls team which will participate next month at the Qantas National Youth Championships. The competition will take place at Coffs Harbour from 7 - 15 July 2006.
The Championships are a very important component of junior football in Australia. Female players that participate at these Championships have been identified as the best young football players in their respective state's for their age and they get the chance to pit their skills against one another in a week long tournament. Girls will have the chance to be identified for future selection for the Young Matildas that will participate in forthcoming Asian Cup and World Youth Cup.
Former Monash City U15 player from last season, Samantha Nashed, has made the squad. Samantha is now playing in the Womens Premier League.
