The Club would like to announce the following junior (U11 to U14) coaches and team managers for the 2007 season. Please contact teams individually for enquires.
Teams will be training off-season once per week from 1 November to 23 December 2006. Official preseason training and practice games will commence Sunday 21 January 2007.
U11 A (Kangaroos) East

Coach Dave Bennett is former England youth regional representative player. Dave is a professional coach and has attained his FFA Senior Coaching Licence. Dave has been coaching juniors for the past 5 years and is intending on bringing the 2007 U11 squad through to Super League for the 2009 season. The team is the current U10 Castlefield Shield champions (2006). Last season Dave was successful in taking the Monash U12A team into U13 Super League and is now looking forward to the challenge of grooming the next generation of Monash Super League players.

Coach John Athanassiou is an former State League player and a former senior team coach. John has attained the FFA Youth Licence. John has been with the team for 4 years since they were initiated in the U8s age group. John took over the head coaching role 3 years ago and for the past two season the team has been undefeated in the league for the past 3 years. The team was runner up in the U10 Castlefield Shield (2005) and champions of the U11 Kangaroos (2006). John is looking forward to a competitive season with the squad qualifying as top seed for the 12A division and will be in for a traditionally tough fight for Super League qualification in 2008.
U12 C or B League East

Coach Peter Smycz took on this new project last season and significantly developed the players to claim the U11 Joeys division title comfortably. Peter has attained the FFA Junior Licence and is hoping the team will be granted a 12 B grading by the FFV should a Kangaroos team for last season pull out of the 12A or 12B competition.
U12 Girls League South-east

Coaches Benno Engels and Moty Grusman initiated the girls squad project last season when the Club fielded our first ever U10 girls team. Both Benno and Moty have attained the FFA Junior Licence and are grooming the squad to play Girls A league competition. Moty has formerly coached two successful sub-junior teams at Monash over the past 6 years winning the 2002 U9 Monash City Gala, and runners-up in the 2002 Castlefield Shield.
U13 South-east Super League

Coach Eamonn Beamish is a former State League player with many years of elite junior league coaching experience. Eamonn has taken on the team this season after previously coaching juniors at Eastern Lions and Box Hill where he has gained considerable coaching experience with Super League level competition. Eamonn has attained the FFA Youth Licence and also coaches the senior team for Old Scotch in Provisional League 2. In 2005 the Old Scotch team finished runners-up in their first season. This current team is the former winner of the U10 Castlefield Shield (2004) and has finished in fourth position in U11 Kangaroos (2005) and again in U12A Division (2006) which has provided direct qualification to the U13 Super League for 2007. The team also toured South Australia in 2006 hosted by Adelaide City, and is intending to tour NSW in March 2007. Eamonn will pass on a wealth of knowledge to the players and is looking to develop the team to challenge for a top 3 position in 2007.
U14 South-east Super League

Coach Laurie Ferns is a former State League player with 8 years experience coaching elite junior players. Laurie has coached the team for the past 6 years and they have previously won the U10 Castlefield Shield (2003), U11 Kangaroos (2004), U12A Division (2005), and last season finished runners up in the U13 Super League (2006). The team also won the U12 International Youth Cup on the Gold Coast (2005) and has previuosly played in tours at the Gold Coast (2004), South Australia (2006) and the Australian Capital Territory (2006). In the latter tour the squad trained at the Australian Institute of Sport and played the ACT U13 Representative Squad. Laurie has recently attained the new Level C Asian Football Confederation Licence and has worked for the FFV occasionally with the Academy and Victorian girls State representative squad projects. In 2007 the team is looking to maintain its position in the top 3.
