Attention all Players for U14 Superleague 2008 Tryouts
I am excited to take on the new position of the Under 14 Superleague Coach at Monash. My Background consists of coaching for 16 years at Senior, Youth and Sub Junior Level for the first time last season. I believe that my philosophy of working closely with every individual of the team and the ability of getting the team to work as a unit is my strength as well as the ability to analise team and individual strength and weaknesses.I look forward taking on this challenging role and I believe that I can build on the great work that Eamonn and other coaches have put in before me.
Existing players already know the high standards that they have created and achieved along with the Coaches and the Club It is important that any player that is expressing interest for next year understands the commitment that might be required some weeks. I.e. extra training or futsal sessions.
For the 2008 Season, the team will focus on;
Understanding and working on the football principals.
Developing and Creating advanced combination play.
Strength, Conditional and Coordination training
Fundamentals of Futsal
As part of the trial process, Players will have to meet Beep test minimum requirements (requirements tbc) and the ability to demonstrate basic skills (heading, juggling, passing receiving etc). The 2 most important factors of selection will be the ability to work as part of the team (Philosophy that the team is bigger and more important than the player) and the ability to listen and learn.
Finally, next season we are looking for Motivated Players and Parents that favours development over winning, understands the concept that the player must comply with team rules and enjoy being part of a competitive environment. It is important that we have proactive families that want to join and be a part of OUR Family (Monash JSC) and most of all to have fun.
I look forward to speak to those by phone or email who are interested and would love to be part of a side that is ambitious and enthusiastic.
Regards
Manni Katakis
