Sept 3rd Home Game Boroondara
Welcome to the last game of the season and the last match report. Last time they met Boroondara had the privilege of being 1-0 up and the boys had to fight back, will it happen again or will the Monash boys with there maturity and experience dominate the game. Starting the game today was Isaac in goals and Peter left wing.It was a slow start the boys did attack with little success Michael from a free kick sailing the ball over the bar Jacob taking on a defender and who shot was saved by the keeper and even a scramble in the goal mouth and yet not being able to get that first goal. All looked lost and 0-0 half time score was looming until that dashing super star Daniel was able to get a goal in from again a scramble in the goal area which came from a low corner from Michael Half Time 1-0
With the half time talk by Guus (Peter) and a change in the line up ( i have to mention the coach, how else will Peter get his name in the report its not as if he is out on the field playing the game) any way enough about the coach
Second half started with electicity it took the boys less than a minute to score the second goal a long ball from Peter playing left back and a deflection from a defender straight to jacob who ran down the right wing beating off the defenders chasing and poping the ball pass the goalie. Thing slowed down alittle until with 10 minutes to goal an appeal by jacob for hand ball was given by the referee and a penelty was awarded. With the flurry of players at the penelty spot who was going to take it and as the boys turned to the coach a call was given Peter to do the honours and as the crowd held their breath Peter strolled in and boom it went over the bar no goal today for Pete from a penelty as he ran back to position, Coach Guus saw the disappointment and call Peter off for a rest bring on Philip to cover the left back spot. The Boys still pressed on Daniel hitting the post and with only minutes left coach Guus was overheard asking Pete if he was ready to go back on and with a nod Pete came on as centre forward and what can we say but the magic of the coaches move ( he made me write that ) a ball was played by Michael to Kruger who put a through ball between two defenders in front of the running man Peter who then proceeded to redeem his earlier miss to crack a shot that the keeper had no chance thus resulting in a
3-0 FINAL SCORE
27th Aug away Ringwood City
Another Sunday and another hard game, well the sunday part was right. The Monash Boys did what they know best and sealed the game with in the first 10 mins After that it was a case of who the referee and dodgy Linesmen (not you Greg) would give off side. The First goal was well executed a pass by Philip to Theo and a long ball down the line to Jacob who beat the keeper, Daniel scored the second and then the third Jacob to Daniel who ran in saw Isaac by himself GOAL. To give the boys 4 before half time Kruger finished one from a pass from Isaac. HALF TIME 4-0
Guus at half time mixed the team around alittle to let the boys play out of their comfort zone and we saw goals to Michael one being a pass from Kruger and then the Ringwood keeper passed it to Michael who gave it back but the keeper missed it lucky the net was there Michael two goal. At this point a goal was scored but offside poped up we will say no more. Goal of the match must be Theo's corner a light deflection by the defender right on the base line and in the net keeper no chance, to finish off Isaac poped in again to score his second.
FINAL SCORE 8-0
Goals Micael ( 2) Isaac ( 2 ) Jacob ( 1 ) Daniel ( 1 ) Kruger ( 1 ) Theo ( 1 )
PS Just a little point i made fun of the linesmen and referee in the match report PLEASE in a game the decision is final and you are never to argue with the Referee
PS PART 2
questions are still being asked how did DANIEL miss that open goal the committee are still viewing the video tapes and still shaking their heads. DANIEL will you have an answer for them at training this week?????
NEXT WEEK HOME AGAINST BOROONDARA LIONS 3rd September
20th August Home Game Springvale City
After a week off the boys were back into it, a tough encounter against Springvale. With a couple of absentees Guus the Coach (Peter) had only 11 starters no subs. Will Springvale exploit this chink in the Monash City Armour and run the boys ragged ? As the boys did there warm ups before the game Singing was heard from the Springvale boys one of the lads is having a Birthday and they were singing Happy Birthday. What better way to celebrate a birthday then to go out on to the field and present Springvale with a Goal yes thats right 1 minute and 30sec in to the game Dennis playing up front scored a goal. It didn't take long for the second to appear thanks to Springvales keeper kicking it in straight to Michael who fed the ball to Kruger. It seems that the boys where switched on this morning and yet again Daniel scored number three a nice through ball from Theo (T). A few more chance appeared but the boys had to contend with 3-0 a half time. After a Drink and Oranges and a few word from Guus it was on for the second half the only change was Harry to forward and Dennis going into defence. Not much can be said about the second half the boys lost there way alittle, passing and looking for the loose man did occur there were some attacking move but goals weren't coming, Jacob was call offside by the referee goal disallowed, Springvale did get a shot but the ball was spinning away from goals as it sailed pass them. With only minute left Harry controlled the ball looked around found Isaac by himself pass it to him and Isaac with a controlled kick chipped the Keeper and got his name on the score card.
FINAL RESULT 4 -0

6 Aug Home Game Glen Waverley
Hello to game number 15 and as before the boys were waiting for a tough match. As the boys prepared to go out and collect another scalp the boys did cheer on a happy birthday to Andrew.
The game started at a feverish pace and it wasn't long before the first goal was scored a great postion move by Guus ( Peter the Coach ) started Dennis up foward and he was rewared wih a nice goal which started with a long ball from Mid field . Jacob then played a brillant through ball to yes you guessed it Dennis who took a run and slotted a goooooaaaal number 2 , the defender now striker. Dennis then was to show the crowd that he can return the favor and place a nice ball out for Jacob to run on and place it in the back of the net , the boys had the game wrapped up when daniel brillantly back heeled a ball that deflected from a dennis shot and Jacob claimed his second
Half Time 4-0
at half time baby oranges (mandarins) were provided by greg (maybe wait alittle longer next time greg so they have a chance to mature when you go fruit picking )
the second half was a reverse of what we saw in the first the boys played as if they were warming up no great penetrating attacks alittle lazy in their kicking but we did manage to get a goal supplied by daniel.
Again the defence stood strong Theo , Will, Andrew (Birthday Boy ) mid field controlled the game. The first half Peter in goals was seen on his mobile organising his sunday after noon and the second half Isaac (did we spell it right?) was in goals but I'm sure he sneaked off to the canteen for hot chips and a drink summing it up glen waverley didn't really trouble Monash.
Final Score 5-0
Dennis (2) Jacob (2) Daniel (1)
After the game Daniel was interviewed by SBS and was asked the question the back heel did he know that jacob was there and as a honest person he is he answered quietly i was actually having a shot
NO GAME THIS SUNDAY COMING AUGUST 13TH
30th July Eastern Lions Away
the boys travelled to Burwood to face off against the Lions expecting a tougher match than the encounter at the beginning of the season, but I'm sorry to say it didnt happen. The BOYS did take a little while to warm up and before to long Philip had the first goal on the board daniel chimmed in with his first and Jacob followed HALF TIME SCORE 0-3
The second half was all Monash, Michael Scoring his goal lobing over the goalkeepers head Theo taking a long run and a booming shot. Jacob did score a second but it was deemed offside Simon hit the wood work. Peter relishing a run on the field scored his goal with a cracking shot and even Denis got on the board with a goal all starting with Harry who took on two players crossed to Jacob who laid it off for Denis .
To Finish the score Line the Eastern Lions decided the only way they were going to score was to accidentally Kick one for Monash
Final Score 0-8
The Boys look set to take the title for this year , but remember there are four matches left and this is the time the boys needs to focus and play as a team you still have some hard games ahead so practice hard, Listen and Enjoy your soccer.
Next Game Home against Glen Waverley

23rd July Glen Eira Home Game
The Boys looked Focus this morning starting the game in a attacking mood. It did take some time for the first goal to appear that coming from the foot of Daniel courtesy of a cross from Jacob. The Second goal came from Jacob who took on the defender beating him and finishing with a shot from out side the box which sailed over the goal keeper, Michael did provide a cracking shot which just went over the cross bar thus Leaving us a score of 2-0 at half time .Great skills were shown by the team in the first half Chris entertained the side line crowd with his foot skills taking on defenders with easy, the defence and midfeild played tight and controlled the half.
The second half the team was mixed around to try boys in different postions. Will and Michael were put forward Nick & Kruger into defence Harry come on and played right wing Issac went Keeper and Peter played Left wing. Good or bad the boys got to taste what its like to play out side their comfort zone. Glen Eira was given the opportunity to score and they relished kicking 2 for the half Monash still dominated the game with goal again from Jacob coming from a nice piece of work from Michael finding Daniel who crossed it in to the box and second goal again Michael finding Peter on the left and a fantastic cross in with a mighty lunge from Daniel headering the ball pass the goalie and defender. Yet again in the second half Michael did provide a power shot which as in the first half sailed over the bar. Finally we need to mention Harry who made a few runs down the wing and we may of found ourselves a second right winger. FINAL SCORE Monash 4 Glen Eira 2
Goal Scorers Jacob (2) Daniel (2)

Port Melbourne Away Sunday 16th July
WE TRAVELLED TO SUNNY PORT MELBOURNE (OK it was over cast) NO RAIN
expecting a hard match and it started just like that within the first 5 mins Port Melbourne were on the score board with the first goal, stunned and shocked the crowd fell silent could this be the start of another defeat for Monash? To the credit of monash they answered the only way they could that being a brillent goal to Simon 1 minute later. The rest of the halve didn't bring any more suprises and the half time score stood at 1-1. After a drink and oranges and a talk by Guus(Peter the Coach) which he stressed the basics of playing postions and picking up Port players. Second halve the boys were switched on Michael, Simon, Daniel started showing their skills Dainel with speed on his side made run after run down the left side and crossing the ball in and Monash were rewarded with goals from Jacob, Simon also had a cracking shot which the goalie saved but it bounced out and Jacob was on hand to finish it off. As always the defence stood firm and Port were limited in shots at goals Nicholas left back Will, Theo supported by Michael.
